Former Attorney Walks Away from High Paying Job to Make More and Work Less

Leaving work in the morning before the kids are awake and coming home after they are asleep all stressed out...is now a distant memory! Everyday is now what my weekends used to be like. I fix big breakfasts for my three children, sing songs with them in the morning, walk them to the school bus. Our house is now a happy home without all the stress of bustling to and from work. In the afternoon our family dog and I greet the children at the bus stop with hugs and shoulder rides home. I walked away from my law practice and came home to be me with a lucrative home business. I simply had enough of the rat race and said "no more!". I finally figured out that nothing was going to change in my life despite my best intentions until I took different actions. Ya know, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing day-in day-out expecting a different result. That was me until I decided to do something about it.

I chose me and my family over the conditioning of a stressful traditional business and job. No more billable hours! My job as an attorney was all about conflict. I realized I put myself in that situaton and only I could take myself out of it. To do that I had to battle my old thinking: "but you spent all that time, sacrifice and money to go to law school, you're a successful attorney practicing for almost 10 years, what are you doing?" I splapped that monkey of my old thinking on my shoulder upside the head. I kept that monkey chatter self-talk brief and ignored it. I stayed true to myself and my family. I realized it was ridicuolous to keep myself in a perpetual downslide because of decisions I made 10-15 years ago! It made no sense to keep doing something that was hurting our family just beause I decided to do that 12 years ago before we had a family. This is not 12 years ago. This is now! Be now. Live in the now. I looked at it and asked myself, "What do I want" and "What am I going to do about it"?" In that moment I empowered myself to take control, to be me.

It took a plan and action. I walked away from my own law practice and now work from home. I show other people how they too can break the shackles of the circumstances they have created for themselves from their choices. Choices from conditioning, our upbringing, from beliefs we didn't know were limiting us. I found out that I was my biggest barrier to personal fulfillment and happiness. And I didn't even know it all that time! I truly thought I was a victim of circumstances. Wow...I learned it was circumstances I created from my choices!

I have learned that abundance is for everyone - time freedom and the energy that money provides.
